The jury decided to distinguish this book of poems because it represents an admirable attempt to direct the reader's gaze towards the spaces, or better yet, the interstices, that the poetic exercise configures in the construction of the poem. These spaces, generally considered extra linguistic, recover their interior or internal nature and go on to occupy a primary plain of signification. Therefore, the poetic substance resides not only in the textual codes but also, and above all, in the exercise of decodification. In other words: poetry is not just what is translated, but translation. In order to stress the fleeting nature of the poetic phenomenon, Georas moves between several languages, not only between Spanish and English, but also between graphic and calligraphic images, discourses that are not considered poetic, geographic and chronological spaces. The mistaken translations remind us that every statement, every claim, every linguistic materialization is a happy misinterpretation. Ultimately, every attempt to freeze the poetic instant is doomed because language is essentially discourse, that is, fluidity, transit; which is not a trance between two spaces, but rather the privileged space where the poetic optic is located. The edition of the book by Libros Nómadas also deserves an honorable mention.

El jurado decidió distinguir este poemario porque representa un admirable intento de dirigir la mirada del lector hacia los espacios, o más bien, los intersticios, que el ejercicio poético va configurando en la construcción del poema. Estos espacios, generalmente considerados como extralingüísticos, recobran su naturaleza interior o interna y pasan a ocupar un primer plano de significación. La sustancia poética reside entonces no sólo en los códigos textuales sino también, y sobre todo, en el ejercicio de la decodificación. En otras palabras: la poesía no es sólo lo que se traduce, sino la traducción. Para recalcar esta naturaleza fugaz del fenómeno poético, Georas se mueve entre varios idiomas o lenguajes, no sólo entre el español y el inglés, sino también entre las imágenes gráficas y caligráficas, los discursos que no son considerados poéticos, los espacios geográficos y los cronológicos. Las traducciones equívocas nos recuerdan que toda enunciación, todo postulado, toda concreción lingüística es una equivocación feliz, que, en el fondo, todo intento de congelar el instante poético es fallido, pues el lenguaje es esencialmente discurso, o sea, fluidez, tránsito; que no es trance entre dos espacios, sino que es el espacio privilegiado donde se ubica a voluntad la óptica poética. La edición del poemario, a cargo de Libros Nómadas, también merece una honrosa mención.
